THE National Doctors Association (NDA), National Department of Health (NDOH), together with Department of Personnel Management (DPM) has signed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for NDA’s new award for 2025-2027.
DPM Secretary Taies Sansan said: “The last MOA for the doctors was signed from 2014 to 2016. As you all may know, when an agreement expires and it is not renewed immediately, the terms of the current agreement continue until a new agreement is settled and agreed upon by parties, then the signing takes place.
“The MOA 2025-2027 is a reflection of the Marape-Rosso government shared commitment to advance the welfare of doctors and, by extension, to strengthen the health system in PNG.
“This agreement outlines clear provisions for terms and conditions of employment.
“It also reaffirms the responsibility of the state to support and resource our doctors so that they are better positioned to serve our citizens,” Ms Sansan said.
Health Department Acting Secretary Ken Wai said, “Doctors, you are the pillars of medicine, and I want you to play the leadership and stand out to provide a leadership in all the provincial health authorities, including PMG and Department of Health.” National Doctors Association president Dr James Naipao acknowledged the support from the Marape-Rosso government for their commitment.
