Kagua Rugby League concludes on a high note

In a thrilling showdown to conclude the 2025 Kagua Rugby League competition, the Kagua Eagles claimed the A grade premiership while the Kagua Panthers won the B-Grade division in a tightly contested match at the Kagua Rugby League field yesterday (Oct 4).

The senior men’s grand final between the Kagua Broncos and Kagua Eagles yesterday, saw the Eagles edging the Broncos 16 points to 15 to claim the A grade premiership.

Both teams put on a strong display of disciplined and high-quality football, with fast-paced play and determination evident across the field. The match remained intense until the final whistle, with the Panthers narrowly holding off the Broncos to claim victory.

In the B-Grade division, the Kagua Panthers went past the Kagua Broncos in a tightly contested match, winning 5-4 to secure the B-Grade premiership title.

The grand final was officially kicked off by Maina Pano, who also donated K20,000 to the Kagua Rugby League support of the competition.

Several distinguished guests were in attendance, including:

– Mr. Philip Moya, President of Mendi Rugby League and Provincial Rugby League Administrator, 

– Mr. Thomas Undipe, 2025 Assistant Coach for the PRK Mendi Muruks,

– And many other dignitaries and community leaders.

The 2025 KRL season has been marked as a success, thanks to the leadership of interim president Wanpis Pokea, whose personal dedication and tireless work ensured a smooth and successful competition.
