ITI holds 64th graduation ceremony

A total of 251 students graduated during the 64th graduation of the International Training Institute at Apec Haus in Port Moresby on Friday.

The graduation ceremony was witnessed by ITI Chairman  Sentheyval, New Zealand High Commissioner to PNG Peter Zwart, Chief Operating Officer of Coral Sea Hotels Simon Martin, PNG Tourism Promotion Authority executive manager corporate affairs Claire Kaipu and Acting Director of PNG Science and Technology Secretariat, Jordan Dean.

The students graduated with certificate and diploma in various fields which includes, accounting, human resource, management, marketing, information technology, business, computing and information systems.

The dux award for diploma in accounting went to Esther Peter, the dux award for diploma in human capital management went to Sayla Hulava and the Chairman’s award went to Emmanuel Tausem.

The Chairman and Co-founder of ITI Mr. Sentheyval gave the welcome remarks while reflecting on the history of the institution, its achievements and the progress of the institution.

Some of the achievements he highlighted were; ITI hosting the first artificial intelligence summit in PNG, it is expending major academic pathways for its students, campus accreditation in progress (in Kokopo, Alotau and Kimbe), Introduction of new Degree programs, leading the way in AI and Digital Innovation, investing in modern infrastructure for its campuses around PNG, building carrier pathways for students by singing MoUs and hosting carrier expo for students.

Mr. Sentheyval congregated and reminded the grandaunts of the journey ahead of them by encouraging them and making reference to the theme of the 64th graduation and said, “Graduands you have shown remarkable resilience, regardless of being faced with personal, financial or health struggles, you have also grown into stronger, wiser and more capable individuals. Your success is just not in the certificate you hold but also in the mindset, work ethic and courage you have gained. Your lecturers gave you tools now it’s time to build your path and so remember that graduation is not an end, it is the beginning of a lifelong learning journey. This means, you are to continue your journey with purpose pride and perseverance.”

The guest speaker of the 64th graduation ceremony of ITI Mr. Simon Martin also added by  congratulating and encouraging  the students to dream big and said, “Be the kind of leader who dreams and leads not just for profit but to build, be the kind of professional who make a success not by how far you go but by how many people you bring along with you because it is a team work. Congratulations to the graduating class of 2025 on behalf of Coral Sea Hotels and steamships. I would also like to congratulate and thank your parents for their support in your academic achievement and the teachers, lectures and professors who transferred their knowledge and expertise and imparted it in the students. Finally, follow your dreams and be bold, take risks where necessary which will then turn out incredibly well to go above and beyond your dreams.”

Mr. Sentheyval concluded by thanking the families and supporters who stood behind every graduand. He also thanked his dedicated faculty and staff that dedicated their time to shape the mindset and the future. To the graduands the future belongs to those who persist, go forward with resilience and grow with purpose to success.
