Former Kapuls Captain Alvin Komolong says he won’t be available for the upcoming MSG Prime Minister’s Cup as he forcuses on continuing his FIFA Masters Program.

Komolong made this statement in his personal Facebook account on Wednesday 29th of October 2025, making it clear to the fans and the team mates of his absence.

“I would like to take this opportunity to inform my supporters, teammates, and the football community that I will not be available for selection for the upcoming MSG Prime Minister’s Cup.

This decision comes as I continue my studies through the FIFA Masters Program, which is part of my commitment to furthering my education and understanding of the game beyond the field,” he stated.

“Balancing both playing and academic commitments at this stage would not allow me to give my best to either, and I believe this is the right time to focus on completing this important chapter of my professional development,” he added

Komolong clarified that he is not retiring from football. “I remain an active player and look forward to returning to the field and representing Papua New Guinea again once I have successfully completed my studies,” he affirmed.

Said Football has given him so much, and he is  grateful to be part of a generation that continues to push the game forward in PNG, both on and off the pitch.

While he is away for studies his heart is always with the team with the strong statement he made.

“To my teammates , Defend our home with pride, play strong, Enjoy the Experience, and have fun playing in front of your home crowd, it is a rare privilege not many Kapuls players get,” he stated.

Komolong thanked the family, teammates, and all supporters for their understanding and encouragement during this period and wish the boys best in the tournament.

” I’ll be cheering you on from afar and supporting you every step of the way,” Komolong concluded.
