Trukai Industries has reaffirmed its long standing commitment to sports development in PNG with the presentation of K500,000 to the PNG Olympic committee (PNGOC).
These funds were raised through the 2025 Trukai Fun Run. Team PNG’s largest annual fundraising event, for which Trukai has been the principal naming rights sponsor since 2000. This year fundraising activities included, shirt auctions, pop up sales, and T-shirt, sales across 10 locations in PNG.
Trukai Industries General Manager for PNG and Solomon Islands, Andrew Grace, said the company was honored to continue its support for team PNG.
” This K500,000 contribution reflects our ongoing commitment to empowering our athletes, strengthening communities and investing in the future of PNG sports. We believe in the spirit, determination and talent of Team PNG, and we are proud to stand behind them aa they carry our flag with pride. Trukai has always championed national unity through sport, and today’s presentation reaffirms that legacy.” he said.
Trukai Industries marketing manager Peggy Manah said the contribution not only represented an investment in the dreams and potential of Papua New Guinean athletes but also supported one of the pillars of Trukai Industries about citizens living active and healthy lifestyles
“By supporting our athletes we uplift our communities and inspire the next generation to believe their goals are within reach,” she said
Corporate manager for PNG Olympic committee Denzel Agi acknowledged Trukai’s continuous support for the past 25 years and described the partnership to be one that both organizations should be proud of.
“Trukai supports us not just with monetary investments but also with capital and helps us organize and coordinate events such as the Trukai Fun Run that happens annually.” he said
“On behalf of team PNG and the athletes that have benefited from this, we are very grateful of the support through Trukai Fun Run which is the biggest fundraiser.
“We send team PNG almost on an annual basis, to the Olympic games, the pacific games or the common wealth games so Trukai’s support is not only supporting Team PNG but also supporting the development of sports in the country,” Mr Agi said.
Trukai Industries reiterated its dedication to this enduring partnership with the PNGOC as both organizations work together to inspire and unite PNG through sporting excellence ahead of major international events in 2026.
