BANK South Pacific (BSP) has made a significant contribution to the health sector in the National Capital District with a donation of K120,000 worth of essential medical supplies to the Metoreia Urban Health Centre. The donation is part of BSP’s 2025 community project program and is set to bolster healthcare services at the clinic, which serves a large number of residents in the area.

The donation, which includes vital consumables, emergency pharmaceuticals, and specialised equipment for dental, optometry, and maternity wards, was made possible through the combined efforts of four BSP Business Units. Each business unit contributed K30,000 from their community project funds to ensure the clinic receives the necessary medical essentials to better serve the community.

Among the supplies donated are critical items such as disposable syringes, needles, labour ward kits, and dental tools, all aimed at improving the clinic’s capacity to deliver comprehensive healthcare services to residents in need.

Ms. Hari Rabura, BSP Group General Manager for Corporate Affairs & Community, highlighted the bank’s commitment to community service, stating that BSP understands the challenges faced by many in accessing affordable and

reliable healthcare. “By strengthening the clinic’s inventory, we are helping to ensure that essential services remain accessible to the community,” she said.

HEO Regina Wuri, Clinic Manager for Metoreia Urban Health Centre, expressed deep gratitude for the donation, noting the positive impact it would have on the clinic’s ability to provide timely and effective care. “These supplies will greatly enhance our ability to serve patients, particularly in critical areas such as maternity, dental, and emergency care,” she said.

Dr. Robin Oge, CEO of the National Capital District Provincial Health Authority (NCDPHA), also expressed appreciation on behalf of the authority, recognising the timely nature of the donation. “This generous donation comes at a crucial time, helping replenish essential supplies and reinforce our commitment to providing quality healthcare to all residents in Port Moresby,” Dr. Oge said.

The donation from BSP highlights the bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting local communities and healthcare facilities. By ensuring that Metoreia Urban Health Centre has the medical supplies it needs, BSP is playing an active role in improving the health and well-being of the people in Port Moresby.
