The University of Papua New Guinea Kundiawa-Gembogl Students Association successfully carried out a general clean-up exercise this morning from 8:00am to 11:30am across the UPNG main campus.

This meaningful initiative was led by the Association’s President, Mr. Barnabas Arre, together with his executive team, demonstrating strong leadership and commitment to community service and environmental responsibility.

The primary intention of the clean-up was to promote a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable campus environment for all students, staff, and visitors. The Association aims to instill a sense of responsibility among students to take pride in their surroundings and actively contribute to maintaining cleanliness within the university.

Through this initiative, the Association also seeks to raise awareness about the importance of proper waste disposal and environmental conservation. A clean campus not only enhances the physical appearance of the university but also creates a more conducive atmosphere for learning and student well-being.

The UPNG community stands to benefit greatly from such efforts, as it fosters unity, cooperation, and a shared sense of ownership among students from diverse backgrounds. Activities like this strengthen community bonds while promoting positive habits that extend beyond the university setting.

The Association would like to extend its sincere appreciation to the UPNG Student Representative Council (SRC) for their generous support in providing essential materials such as garbage bags and gloves, which contributed greatly to the success of the program.
The Kundiawa-Gembogl Students Association remains committed to organizing more initiatives that positively impact both the campus and the wider community.
