A 5-day induction program for local leaders in the Gazelle District aimed at strengthen grassroots governance was held in late March and attended by 179 participants from five LLGs.
Community Development Advisor for ENB Peter Tutuai who was the facilitator stated the goal: revisit basic LLG and ward governance. The
theme was “Resetting the Fundamentals of Change, Transforming the Future.”
Key presentations targeted Strategic Result Areas (SRAs) which really helped leaders to identify fundamental vs. urgent matters.
The induction also launched three initiatives:
· WaSH Program
· Rollout of the Healthy Island Concept for Gazelle district
· Commissioning of the E-Youth Registration
“There is a task ahead of you, to work together and deliver for our people,” said Mr Tutuai as a closing reminder.
The program thus served as both a training refresher and a springboard for practical governance reforms at the community level.
