Datec hosted its 15th graduation ceremony in Port Moresby today, reflecting its shared commitment to developing a skilled and future ready workforce for Papua New Guinea.
More than 300 students from the class of 2025 graduated across six specialized ICT and professional programs.
The students graduated with Advanced Professional Diploma in Information Technology, Advanced Diploma in Server and Network Administration, Advance Professional Diploma in Data Analysis and Data Science, Diploma in Projects Management, Diploma in Data Analysis and Business Intelligence and Diploma in Cyber Security.
The graduation added to the Datec Learning Center’s growing legacy of national capital building in continuing to contribute to PNG’s expending pool of ICT and Business professionals with more than 2000 who have already graduated from Datec’s training program in the past 16 years.
General manager of the Datec Learning Centre Ravichandran highlighted Datec Learning center’s mission in empowering Papua New Guineans with the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to strive in this rapidly changing world.
“Regardless of the field you are graduating in, you are part of the graduates that are shaping the future of this country. Let today be a reminder that your potentials are greater than any obstacles that you may face,” Mr Ravichandran said.
Telikom PNG Limited board director Janet Sios urged the students to use technology ethically as future architects of technology highlighting the resilience in mastering complex systems and adapting to rapid technology innovation in this world.

“Today is not just about getting your diploma, it is about getting a license to invest in your future. As IT professionals, you are not just technicians, you are architects of the digital age. The system you build the data you analyze and the security you uphold in an organization will shape how humanity works communicate and how we all live,” Mrs Sios said.
“With those qualifications you have gained now you have immense power in your hand and so when you get an employment use that power of what is expected of you that is use the skills ethically to solve real world problems.
“Use this power for good but be ethical, creative and remember that the human beings behind the machines also have feelings. Always research the latest because technology is the most rapidly changing industry in the world. Hence it is the beauty of the IT field that you have chosen, it never stands still and so, always be eager to learn new things.”
Mr. Ravichandran acknowledged the support of Telikom PNG, government agencies, corporate partners and industry stakeholders whose continued collaboration enabled the delivery of impactful training for Datec students.
