The Thailand Women have defeated the PNG Lewas by six wickets in the second T20 International of the series at Amini Park yesterday, successfully chasing down Papua New Guinea’s total of 87/9 in 18.2 overs.
The result gives Thailand another strong performance in the series, with the visitors reaching 89/4 to complete the chase with 10 balls remaining.
After being sent in to bat, the PNG Lewas posted 87 runs for the loss of nine wickets from their 20 overs.
Thailand’s bowling attack kept the PNG batting line-up under pressure throughout the innings, restricting the Lewas to a modest total.

In reply, Thailand lost four wickets but remained composed to reach the required total.
Nannapat Khoncharoenkai top-scored for Thailand with a well-made 46 from 50 deliveries, including five boundaries, providing the foundation for the successful chase.
Thailand captain Naruemol Chaiwai contributed 20 from 31 balls, while Chanida Sutthiruang remained unbeaten on 8 and Nannaphat Chaihan finished unbeaten on 3 as Thailand reached 89/4 in 18.2 overs.
For PNG, Isabel Toua was the standout bowler, claiming 2/13 from her four overs, while Henao Jean Thomas also took two wickets, finishing with 2/20 from four overs.
Pauke Siaka was economical with the ball, conceding just eight runs from her three overs and finishing with an impressive economy rate of 2.67.
Thailand’s Phannita Maya was named Player of the Match following her contribution with both bat and ball.
Maya scored 4 runs from three deliveries before making an impact with the ball, while Thailand’s bowling unit worked collectively to restrict the PNG Lewas to 87/9.
The second T20I provided another valuable international contest for both teams, giving players the opportunity to test themselves against quality opposition at Amini Park.
The PNG Lewas will take the lessons from the match as they continue their international campaign, while Thailand will celebrate a successful outing on their tour of PNG.
