DIGICEL Pacific Group on Friday (15/05/26) announced the appointment of Tim Bryson as Group Head of External Affairs, strengthening the company’s leadership across government relations, stakeholder engagement and strategic external affairs in Australia, Papua New Guinea and its Pacific Hub markets.

Tim brings more than two decades of senior leadership experience across mining, diplomacy and Australian federal politics. He previously led Newmont’s external engagement across Australia and Papua New Guinea, served in two diplomatic postings to Papua New Guinea, and worked as Chief of Staff to Australia’s Minister for International Development. In the latter role, he advised on major regional priorities, including decisions relating to Telstra’s acquisition of Digicel Pacific.

He is deeply networked across government, industry and the Pacific, adding significant strategic, geopolitical and stakeholder capability to the Digicel Pacific Group.

Roary Stasko, CEO of Telstra International, said: “Tim brings a rare combination of experience across government relations, diplomacy and corporate external affairs, having

worked extensively with governments, regulators, industry bodies and partners in complex, highly regulated environments. He has operated for many years at the intersection of policy, community, corporate and geopolitical considerations, giving him a deep understanding of the landscapes Digicel Pacific operates in and the relationships that matter most.”

Tim Bryson, Group Head of External Affairs, said: “Digicel Pacific plays a vital role in connecting people, communities and economies across Papua New Guinea and the Pacific.

Having grown up in Papua New Guinea, the region has always been personally meaningful to me, and my career across government, diplomacy and industry has reinforced how important trusted relationships are in supporting long term development. I’m looking forward to bringing that experience to Digicel Pacific as it continues to contribute positively across the region.”
