Koiari MP Keith Iduhu has questioned the government’s decision to exclude Central Province and plant-site landowners from direct representation on the board of the Kroton Equity Options Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), which manages a 4.27 percent equity stake in the PNGLNG Project.

Speaking in Parliament, Iduhu said the National Executive Council’s Decision 64/2026 approved the transfer of the equity interest from Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited to the SPV, including K30 million in seed capital.

He said while the interim board includes representatives from Hela, Southern Highlands, Gulf Province and pipeline areas, there is no dedicated seat for Hiri-Koiari plant-site landowners in Central Province, where the PNGLNG processing facilities are located.

Iduhu described the exclusion as “divisive, oppressive and biased” and called on Prime Minister Hon James Marape when responding explained the legal basis for the decision.

He also urged the government to review the NEC decision or establish a separate SPV for plant-site licence holders to ensure Central Province landowners are fairly represented.
