More than 1,000 families in the mountainous region of Goilala, Central, are left homeless after a devastating fire burnt down their homes this week.

According to reports, Emavan village in ward 9 of the Tapini local level government has experienced severe destruction from a raging fire that started from a nearby shrub.

The emotional pain and trauma suffered by the community cannot be measured as they are seeking shelter wherever they can.

Mothers are struggling to care for their children in this devastating situation, while fathers are desperately trying to salvage whatever remains from the burnt ruins.

Teachers and students have been impacted from the disaster, affecting education for the children.

The community are facing an uncertain future from this disaster and have called on responsible authorities to assist the.

They urgentky need food supply, temporary shelter, clothing, medical supplies, kitchen utensils, clean water and education resources to rebuild their lives.

They made an appeal to the Governor of Central province Rufina Peter and the administration, Goilala MP and his DDA, National Disaster Center, Department of Education and Non Government Organisation to assist them.
