THE PNG Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Council Inc. has appointed Mr Jeffrey Singer as its new Executive Director, marking a key step in strengthening the organisation’s leadership and expanding support services for micro, small and medium enterprises across Papua New Guinea. The appointment is expected to enhance the Council’s work in advocacy, access to finance, capacity building, market access, and policy engagement on behalf of its members nationwide.

President of the PNG MSME Council Inc., Mr James Gore, said the appointment reflects the Council’s commitment to a stronger national platform for MSMEs.

“Mr Singer brings strong MSME and financial services experience, with practical knowledge of customers, communities and businesses across PNG,” Mr Gore said. “His appointment comes as the Council enters its next phase of institutional strengthening, member service delivery and national advocacy.”

Mr Singer is a respected banking and MSME development professional. He served with BSP Financial Group Limited for more than two decades, including as Head of SME, and held senior roles in retail banking, regional operations and small business support.

Mr Gore said the Council will work with Mr Singer to strengthen partnerships with government, financial institutions, development partners, provincial networks and the private sector.

“MSMEs are the backbone of inclusive economic growth in Papua New Guinea. With Mr Singer’s leadership, we will sharpen the Council’s focus on practical outcomes and ensure MSMEs have a strong, credible national voice,” Mr Gore said.

Mr Singer said he was honoured to take up the role.

“I am grateful for the confidence placed in me by the President, Board and members of the PNG MSME Council Inc.,” Mr Singer said. “I look forward to working with stakeholders to strengthen support for MSMEs and help Papua New Guinean entrepreneurs start, sustain and grow their businesses.”

The appointment supports the Council’s renewed focus on governance, member engagement, policy advocacy, financial inclusion, digital transformation and provincial outreach.

The PNG MSME Council Inc. is the national representative body for MSMEs, supporting enterprise growth through advocacy, capacity building, market access, partnerships and policy engagement.
