PRIME Minister James Marape has announced changes to Cabinet responsibilities, including the appointment of the Hon. Wake Goi to oversee the Commerce and Industry portfolio.

Mr Goi has been moved from the Civil Aviation portfolio to Commerce and Industry, where he will take charge of the ministry’s responsibilities and provide leadership on key areas, including small and medium enterprise (SME) development and industry growth.

The Prime Minister also announced that Minister Win Daki will remain in Cabinet as a Minister without Portfolio while he is suspended from his previous ministerial duties.

Minister Daki is currently undergoing an investigation into allegations relating to the reported missing K200 million during his time as Minister for Commerce and Industry. The matter remains under investigation, and further action will be determined after the process is completed.

Prime Minister Marape said the changes are aimed at ensuring continuity, accountability, and effective management of important government portfolios.
