TWO sports association in Sogeri, Central province has received timely financial backing from the Koiari Special Purpose Authority over the weekend to boost its competitions.
Sogeri Plantation Soccer Association who will stage its inaugural grandfinal feat two weeks from now recieved K5000 while the Koiari Rugby League Association recieved another K5000 to boost its competition.
KSPA chairman Paul Noel said the purpose of supporting the sports associations in the Sogeri plateau was to enhance sports development and encourage youths participate actively in organised sports activities.
He said such commitment to sports gives confidence to youths develop their talents and build on their sporting career.
He commended the executives of the soccer association in reviving the code, capturing interest from Itiki, surrounding areas within Sogeri, Sirinumu, and 14mile.
He also challenged the Koiari Rugby league executives to run competitive games and identify talents and groom them.
League official, Eric Uweah thanked KSPA for its generous support toward the league and added that the money would be used to support its administration and the competition.
He said the support was timely to boost the operations of the league.
