GEREHU General Hospital has received K26,490 worth of medical equipment and other items from Bank South Pacific’s (BSP) Corporate Banking Division to support patient care.

The donation was made under BSP’s Community Project, part of the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility program, and was handed over at the hospital on August 14 by Group General Manager – Corporate and Institutional Banking, Daniel Faunt.

The main contribution included vital signs monitors supplied by Meddent, which will help health workers monitor patients more effectively in the hospital’s inpatient wards.

BSP staff also contributed clothes and toys, which will provide additional support and comfort to patients and families receiving care at the hospital.

Acting Hospital Manager Dr Esther Gabut said the donation came at an important time for the hospital and would directly benefit patients and health workers.

“This donation is a timely boost for our inpatient wards,” Dr Gabut said.

She said the vital signs monitors would assist staff in closely monitoring patients, while the clothes and toys would provide comfort to those in need.

Dr Gabut thanked BSP’s Corporate Banking Division for its generosity and continued commitment to supporting community health.

National Capital District Provincial Health Authority (NCDPHA) Chief Executive Officer Dr Robin Oge also welcomed the partnership, saying corporate support was important in strengthening health services across NCD and Motu Koitabu communities.

“Health facilities rely on partnerships to deliver quality care,” Dr Oge said.

He said BSP’s contribution showed what could be achieved when businesses and health authorities worked together to improve services and patient outcomes.

The handover was attended by senior BSP managers, including Head of Corporate Projects Ovia Oa, Head of Transaction Banking Sandra Fore, Jemimah Nui and members of the Corporate Banking team.

NCDPHA management acknowledged BSP for its continued support towards health services in the capital.
