K92 Mining and Femili PNG Sign MoU to Strengthen Community Support

K92 Mining has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Femili PNG to strengthen collaboration and support services for vulnerable individuals and families in communities around Kainantu.

The MoU was signed on Monday, 17 August 2026, at Kainantu Lodge and witnessed by representatives from Kainantu Urban LLG, Agarabi LLG, K92 Mining and Femili PNG.

Kainantu Urban Local Level Government (LLG) was represented by Deputy Urban Manageress Operations Jenny Biosi and Kainantu District Community Development Acting Manager Melis Apele, while Lillian Arongko represented Agarabi LLG. K92 Mining was represented by General Manager – Community Affairs (CA) Felix Kipalan and his team, while the Femili PNG CEO & Senior Social Worker (SSW), Ms. Daisy Plana was accompanied by Executive Officer Elly Toimbo, Goroka Case Management Centre Program Manager Jonica Jay, and Program Manager for the Femili PNG Special Project under United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Joannah Seng.

Mr Kipalan said the partnership demonstrates the importance of working with experienced organizations to address community needs.

Mr Kipalan said, “Building strong communities is not only about economic development. We also need to work together to support the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable people in our communities. Our partnership with Femili PNG is an important step towards strengthening these support services and working closely with our local stakeholders.”

Femili PNG CEO & SSW Daisy Plana welcomed the partnership, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the private sector, government agencies, and specialist service providers in supporting vulnerable individuals and families. She said the partnership with K92 Mining would strengthen community engagement efforts, enhance access to support services, and contribute to building safer and more supportive communities through close collaboration with local stakeholders and service providers.

The MoU provides a framework for K92 Mining and Femili PNG to work together in areas of mutual interest and reflects K92 Mining’s commitment to responsible community engagement and partnerships that contribute to positive social outcomes.

K92 Mining looks forward to working with Femili PNG and local government partners to implement the areas of

cooperation outlined under the MoU and contribute to stronger and more resilient communities in the Kainantu area.
