Former Kumuls and SP PNG Hunters Hooker Wartovo Puara Junior says the team will review the preliminary finals match against the Morobe Kandes ahead of Grand final showdown against Mendi Muruks on Sunday.
Puara made this statement during a post-match interview with the media after the victory over the Morobe Kandes on Sunday Last week.
It was a hard-fought victory for the Rabaul Gurias after defeating the 2026 top performing team in the Digicel ExxonMobil Cup competition, the Morobe Kandes 20 points to 18 at the Santos National Football Stadium on Sunday.
Gurias Coach Wartovo Puara Jnr was pleased with the performance of the team but said there are things that needed fixing and he would work with the team to get it address it before the grand-final on Sunday.

“I think I am very happy with the boy’s performance this afternoon, lot of errors in our game to fix especially in our attack but, really good effort in defense,” he said.
Puara also acknowledged his former coach Stanley Tepend’s team, Morobe Kandes for a tough contest.
“They are very good with team very good coach. They have been in the top of the ladder throughout the season so I think I acknowledge them for being the top performing team in their inaugural season,” Puara said.
“We will go back review the game and see where we went wrong. I think a lot of things went wrong in our game against the Kandes so we will review the game and prepare for the finals against Mendi Muruks on Sunday.
