Minister for Transport & Coffee and Wapenamanda MP, Hon. Miki Kaeok has praised South Pacific Construction and Engineering Limited for its continued work on the Lower Lai Kompiam Road Project under the Marape Rosso Government’s Connect PNG Program.
South Pacific Construction and Engineering Limited is implementing the Government’s Connect PNG policy by delivering vital road infrastructure to rural communities and improving access to essential services, markets and economic opportunities.
Road sealing works are expected to commence soon, following the completion of the ongoing road construction and maintenance works along the project corridor.


Under the leadership of Hon. Miki Kaeok, MP, efforts are focused on strengthening road connectivity across Wapenamanda and opening rural communities to markets, schools, health services, transportation and economic opportunities.
The wider connectivity vision includes linking Kompiam to Yangis, Yaimanda, Koekam and Lapalam, with connections towards the Sepik Highway. The Lumusa–Jimmy corridor will also strengthen connectivity towards Madang.
Development is taking shape on the ground. Roads are being built, communities are being connected, and opportunities are being opened.
