The 1134 Crocks of Igam Barracks have claimed the 2026 Commanders Cup after powering past the FSB Tigers of Murray Barracks 13–0 in a hard-fought rugby union grand final yesterday.

The final was played at the Murray Barracks Oval, where both military sides battled strongly for the Commanders Cup.

The Crocks produced a disciplined performance throughout the match, keeping the Tigers scoreless while securing 13 points to seal the grand final victory.

It was a physical contest, with both teams showing determination and commitment on the field. However, the Crocks maintained their composure and worked together to control the match.

The final whistle sparked celebrations among the Crocks players, supporters and fellow soldiers, as the Igam Barracks side lifted the Commanders Cup for 2026.

The victory give off a strong campaign for the Crocks, who now take home the 2026 Commanders Cup after overcoming the FSB Tigers in the grand final.

The result also highlighted the competitive spirit and camaraderie among Papua New Guinea Defence Force personnel, with the two barracks sides coming together through sport despite the intensity of the contest
