A CENTRAL Province Police Officer and Small Business Owner Jonathan Ilau recently launched new technology into Papua New Guinea (PNG).
The Port Moresby (POM) based security services company, DEXSS Limited launched the new mobile app called “DEXSS PNG” to provide a rideshare service.
DEXSS PNG App is available on both apple and android phones and it utilises GPS tracking technology and thousands of registered addresses across the country to enable people to arrive safely at their destinations.
Ilau, the Managing Director of DEXSS Limited believes the new App would change the way people move around the country and also would add significant benefits to the community.
“The rideshare service will create hundreds of income opportunities for regular Papua New Guineans who want to make money; all you need is a reliable car, smartphone and a good service attitude,” Ilau said.
“People are very excited at the prospect of a secure, reliable transport system to move around while being followed live via GPS,” he said.
Ilau said the app itself is not just about making profit but a part of his vision for the nation.
“For us to prosper in business and in life, we need to work together and ensure security, safety and accountability in all we do,” said Ilau, who will also be contesting for the Hiri Open Seat in the upcoming general elections.
“We have been approached by many PNG businesses who want to setup an account and use this system as a cashless way of taking their employees to work locations,” he said.
The DEXSS PNG rideshare service will be used in POM starting today and it will roll out to the rest of the country by next month, May.
