ISHMAEL Pole’s move to join a new NSL franchise will make it his second move as he looks forward to a better year with Gulf Komara.
Pole is thankful for his former club Port Moresby strikers for taking him in after he departed Hekari United last year in a move he described as “though”.
“My move to Gulf Komara, I will give my best just like I did with Hekari United and Port Moresby Strikers.
“I am no longer with Port Moresby Strikers and I will play under the new logo of Gulf Komara,” he said.
“Thanks to Pom Strikers for the opportunity when things did not work out for me with Hekari United.
“We finished third last year and it was great to play with a team of young players.
“The management and the players are a great team.”
He said his now focused to take part in the National Premier League (NPL) a new Football format that is said to be rolled out this season.
Gulf Komara has also kicked off their season 2022 preparation on Monday last week.
Pole said he is happy to train under one of the best and former PNG National men’s goal keeper David Awa to sharpen his skills.
“I missed out on the recent national team. Now I want to train under David Awa and hopefully make the team. I also hope for the O-League,” Pole said.
He said with the Oceania Football Confederation League (O-League) tournament up for grab he will give his best to Komara as they aim for the top price.
With over 7 years of competing in NSL, Pole will be a boost to Komara.
He was nominated goal keeper of the tournament in 2019 and is a perfect edition to Komara, who are a tough team to beat in the southern confederation apart from the historical PNG southern confederation giants the Hekari United FC.
