Sir Joseph Nombri Memorial Hospital (SJNMH) in Kundiawa has partnered with the City Pharmacy Limited (CPL) to extend its pharmaceutical and cosmetics services to Simbu province.

The memorandum of agreement was signed sometime back. Early this week the symbolic ground breaking event was held at the gate area of the hospital ground to eventuate the construction of the building.

The building will be located to the northern front end of the main entrance to house the pharmacy, and Bon Café.

As it was the Public Private Partnership (PPP) government strategic directive, the outgoing Simbu Provincial Health Authority (SiPHA) board chairman Robert Nilkare with his board members and the executive team, were at hand to partake in the event together with Kevin Alo General Manager Strategic Marketing, and Mr Pradeep Panda General Manager Sales & Merchandise of CPL.

Mr Robert Kaure Nilkare in his last official duty dug deep and shoveled the sand to mark the new era of partnership with a corporate organization for the benefit of the people of Simbu and patients of SJNMH.

Mr Nilkare thanked CPL for the confidence the entity has in doing business with the people of Simbu and assured the people of Simbu that CPL would support the hospital’s pharmacy from its generic medicines.

SiPHA’s Chief Executive Officer Dr Francis Wandi also thanked CPL for having the courage in extending its services to Simbu, a province that has its own limitations, challenges, and low economic base.

Dr Wandi said the confidence CPL has for Simbu was also reflected in the arrangement between the vegetable growers of Gembogl district where the produce are sold directly to CPL supermarkets.

He said Simbu was happy to host CPL, which would uplift the image of the province, and also create employment opportunities to the local people.

He said the arrangement complemented the government’s PPP policy and also reflected on the SiPHA’s board and management on its strategic approach in creating enabling environment for the promotion and protection of the health of the people.

On hand to witnessed the occasion were board members Godfrid Umba, Michael Sipa, Jerry Kapka, and senior hospital officer Emmanuel Kumulgo.
