SUNDAY Bulletin has received an intel from Pastor Kasi Tau, National Coordinator of PNG Christian Leaders Alliances on HIV & AIDS Secretariate’s (PCLA & HAS) that Papua New Guinea is expected to welcome an Australian manufactured aircraft to carry out humanitarian mission in the country.
The new aircraft is expected to be supplied by the Amphibian Aerospace Industries (AAI) Pty Limited and will be operated on both land and sea in the country.
The arrangement details for this mission remain unknown for now, however, Sunday Bulletin understands, the mission is vital as it will serve the country’s most remote areas including islands and atolls.
This paper was informed, PCLA & HAS is currently looking at finalizing the final steps for the mission with an expectation of bringing in first Amphibian Aircraft to PNG by 2024.
The AAI’s aircrafts are designed for use in rugged operations by landing on land, ice and sea, featuring modern turbine engine built by Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67F engines, systems redundancy, mission-proven, rugged and marinized structure, high payload, and easily adaptable cabin configuration.
This paper was reliably informed that AAI is honored to support the government and the people of PNG through close collaboration with His Eminence Sir John Cardinal Ribat. MSC. DD. KBE., the Chairman of the PNG Christian Leaders Alliances on HIV & AIDS Secretariat by brining project Albatross to PNG.
Meanwhile, Sunday Bulletin understands that the government cycle was briefed on this vital project for further direction and discussion.
