SOLDIERS from the Australian Defence Force (ADF) 2nd Cavalry Regiment (2 Cav Regt) have strengthened the enduring partnership between Papua New Guinea and Australia through a recent visit to Cheshire Inclusive Education Resource Centre in Port Moresby, a local school supporting children with disabilities.

The soldiers donated a range of sporting equipment, including footballs, cones, skipping ropes, and other recreational items to the school.

During the visit ADF members spent time with students and staff, taking part in games, sharing stories, and building meaningful connections with the children.

The Australian High Commission noted that the donation will support the school’s physical activity programs and encourage inclusive play for all students.

The equipment is expected to enhance opportunities for students to stay active, build confidence, and enjoy sport in a safe and supportive environment.

Australian High Commission said the engagement created a joyful and inclusive environment, with students excited to interact with the visiting soldiers. Activities focused on teamwork, participation, and encouragement, reinforcing shared values of respect, service, and community.

The visit highlights the strong PNG–Australia partnership, which is built on mutual respect, cooperation, and a shared commitment to improving the wellbeing of local communities.
