THE Teaching Service Commission Acting Chairman, Maini Mike Ugaia, has officially directed the immediate restoration of 8,000 teachers who were affected by the recent auto salary suspension on Pay 10. (Wednesday, 13th May,2026)

To expedite this process, all Provincial TSC Advisors and Provincial Education Advisors are urgently requested to collect Resumption of Duty Summary Sheets from the affected teachers and forward them to the TSC Headquarters without delay.

The auto suspension was initially scheduled to take effect during Pay 7. However, initial data indicated that a critically high volume of 29,000 teachers nationwide would be affected. To prevent widespread disruption, the TSC management intervened and instructed the payroll division to defer the suspension deadline to Pay 10.

Through ongoing updates, the final number of affected personnel was successfully reduced to 8,000.

Teachers serving in provinces heavily impacted by Cyclone Maila are strictly exempted from this exercise, and their salaries have been maintained to support ongoing recovery efforts.

Provincial officers must now take immediate action to gather all outstanding Resumption of Duty Summary Sheets from affected teachers in their respective provinces and dispatch the verified data to Head Quarters immediately to facilitate prompt payroll reinstatement. Additionally, these officers are urged to submit accurate, verified lists pinpointing the exact schools physically affected by Cyclone Maila to ensure eligible teachers continue to receive uninterrupted pay.

The Commission reiterates its commitment to teacher welfare and urges swift compliance from all provincial authorities to minimize further financial distress for teachers.
