Secretary for Education Dr Uke Kombra says Grade 12 certificates are expected to be ready by early next week followed by Grades 8 and 10.

“We regret to announce that our school certificates for students who have completed their exams in 2025 for grades 12, 10 and 8 for the first time after a very long time have been delayed due to challenges faced in our financial limitations that was beyond our control.”

Mr Kombra said the certificates had been printed and will be released after payments are made to the printing companies.

“As I’m speaking as of yesterday, the first payment was made to the printing company. We are looking forward to one of our senior officers who is already there to bring it back. Hence, we should be able to give out the grade 12 and school of excellence certificates by next week.

“This will then be followed by grades ten and eight, but it is a most critical one for training and employment for grade twelves, therefore, we are doing our very best to get the certificates to them.”

Dr. Uke Kombra also apologized for the delay in the printing of certificates.

“I regret that has happened; however, it’s not a deliberate action of the department, we have done everything possible, but because of funding issues, we were not able to pay the service provider on time.”

He said the Department of Higher Education was working closely with the Government Printing Office, Bank of Papua New Guinea and Bank South Pacific to ensure the funds were paid to the printing companies.
