INVESTING in human resource within Kerema district continues as the Kerema District Development Authority (KDDA) made another significant support funding to Coronation secondary School.
A cheque presentation of K9,612 was approved by Kerema MP Thomas Opa, and was presented to Coronation secondary school.
The funding was made available purposely for the school to purchase equipment in the school’s Information Communications Technology (ICT) lab, so that students can have fair access and idea to the full components of a computer and other digital apparatus required to broaden their knowledge in ICT.
Principal of the school Mr. Collin Suaka was present to receive the cheque from Kerema MP together with his voluntary ICT tutor Mr. William Avae.
“The world has transformed into a digital era. It is very important to advance our accreditations and level of teaching in rural societies to cope up with urban schools,” says Thomas Opa.
Opa said that, as their prime focus on development has now been set with works about to resume, his DDA executives will continue in supporting, empowering and assisting students and schools all throughout the electorate.
He said this was part of the KDDA’s vision is to see educated Kerema population in the next ten (10) years.
“This cheque presentation towards the school is about giving support in reviving our schools as well as giving hope and motivation to our children, so they can be competent academically.
Information Communication Technology is now the money-making trend throughout the world and this small but significant funding will take the school a long way from its current state,” Mr. Opa said.
He said his DDA will continue offer this support by working together with all other schools within the electorate.
