A total of 92,596 Grade 10 students across the country will be sitting for their Written Expression National Exam tomorrow (Thursday June 4th, 2026).
The students come from 554 Secondary and High Schools, including private permitted schools in the country who will sit for this important exam.
Secretary for Education, Dr Uke Kombra confirmed that all examination materials have been dispatched and received by the provinces, including National Capital District (NCD) and Central Province, for distribution to schools.
The Measurement Services Division (MSD) have completed all necessary preparations for the Grade 10 Written Expression Examination (WEX).
This marks the first National Exam in the education calendar and for National examination schedule for this year.
Written Expression accounts for 30 per cent of the overall English result.
WEX is important as any other lower secondary certificate exams to be held in October, later this year,” Dr Kombra said.
To ensure the integrity and fairness of the exam, the Department has put in place strict security measures for handling and distributing the exam papers.
All the Provincial education advisers (PEAs), provincial education examination supervisors, senior secondary school inspectors, guidance officers, principals and governing councils are asked to be vigilant and security conscious with the security of the examination materials through the actual administration by following the rules enforced by the Measurement Services Division.
Dr Kombra advice everyone involved in the examination process to prevent all tendencies towards any mal-practises that may compromise the results.
Special support will be provided for students who have special needs so that they can also take the exam comfortably and fairly.
Dr Kombra further wished all Grade 10 students the very best of luck and called on parents, teachers, and the community to support the students during this important time.
