Police Minister Sir John Pundari has directed Commissioner of Police (CoP) David Manning to provide a financial report for the 2025 national budget.

“Money that we received, where have we expended the money, what are the results that we have received as a result of investing that money,” Sir John told his first media conference since his recent appointment.

“Sometimes in the budget, they used to say a lot of money has been allocated to the police department.

“Last year, 2025, the Police Department got K800 million, but out of that money, what have we done?”

Sir John said he had requested CoP Manning to provide a revenue and an expenditure report for 2025.

“I want to also see your money plan for 2026, maybe for the operational budget of K1.2 billion,” he said.

“I want to know how much is going for the police fraud squads, Special Service Division, the cyber division, and all the national functions.

“I want to know where the operational funds are going.”

He added that PNG was facing social disorders and lawlessness, and operational funds must come on time.

“They must be sufficient enough to meet the cost of police operations right throughout the country 24/7,” Minister Pundari said.

  1. Too good you are, Sir John Pundari.
A very vibrant and very intellectual Leader of K.A, Enga and PNG as a whole, regardless of side talks by few Engan jealous elements..
    Keep up your good job.
Nay our great God continue to give you wisdom and you may continue to carry this beautiful country forward, in one way or the other. Cheers..🥰❤️🙏
