Pangu and ULP join forces

DEPUTY Party Leader for Pangu Pati and Morobe Governor Ginson Saonu has welcomed moves to work with United Labour Party.

This follows media reports that United Labour Party Leader (Bulolo MP) & Deputy Prime Minister Sam Basil’s intentions to not field any candidates for seats already occupied by Pangu Party Members of Parliament.

The seats occupied by Pangu Party in Morobe include the Morobe Regional Seat (Ginson Saonu), Lae Open (John Rosso), Finschhafen Open (Rainbo Paita), Tewai-Siassi Open (Dr Kobby Bomareo) and Menyamya Open (Benjamin Philip).

Governor Saonu whilst thanking Deputy Prime Minister Sam Basil, said full credit must go to him as well for reviving Pangu Pati in Morobe province and the country in the 2017 National General Elections.

“Thenkiu lo Sam Basil lo kamapim Pangu Pati lo provins and nau em kirapim niupela pati blo Morobe na Kantri em ULP.” (Thankyou Sam Basil for reviving Pangu Pati for the people of Morobe and the country)

“Nao bai tupla pati (ULP & Pangu) bai wok bung wantaim olsem fos lo influencim kantri ,” the governor said in tokpisin ( Now we will work together as one force to influence decision making in the country).

The Governor was focused that now that there is an understanding in place, the both parties will now work closely with each other respectfully.

“I want to further praise the recent ULP Convention held at Mapos village in Bulolo district where there was a huge turnout and that is a positive sign.”

Governor Saonu said PANGU PATI is now ready to host its National Convention in Lae soon and urged Morobeans to see that leadership in Morobe has taken another level that will eventually bring more gain for the province in the long run.

“This kind of understanding between the respective parties’ displays maturity in leadership where the eventual winners are the people.”

Governor Saonu said the confirmed dates of the Pangu Pati National Convention will be set and made public soon.
