Samoa qualifies for ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup

Samoa has qualified in the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup East Asia Pacific (EAP) Qualifier and will represent the region at the 2027 ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup.

The presentation ceremony was held following day six of the tournament after match 10 on Monday,13 April.

Avetia Fetu Mapu (Samoa) was named Player of the Tournament and Batter of the Tournament, scoring 103 runs from four innings, including a top score of 67. Hardiya Padda (Samoa) earned Bowler of the Tournament honors with nine wickets, an economy rate of 2.85, an average of 4.11, and best figures of 4/9.

The Team of the Tournament included: Avetia Fetu Mapu, Hardiya Padda, Jane Taliilagi Manase and Telesia Vaoala Gabriel (Samoa); Hilva Nuraulia Siami Lukman, Ni Kadek Dwi Apprillia Putri and Ni Putu Cantika (Indonesia); Ishani Singh and Mele Waqanisau (Fiji); Mea Loa and Molong Hobart (PNG); and Susan Stephen (Vanuatu).

Umpires Helen Atai, Suresh Subramanian, Tina Semmens, Kim Cotton and Trudy Anderson, along with coaches Megan Pauwels, Justine Dunce and Kelly Applebee, were recognized for their contribution.

ICC representatives in attendance included Tournament Director Emily O’Brien, Jordan Dean and Amitayushya Mishra.

Cricket PNG Board Chairman Michael Harrison said in his remarks,

League Points Table: (April 08 to April 13)

•Samoa U19 Women – Finished 1st with a perfect record (4 wins, 0 losses), earning 8 points and a tournament-best net run rate of 2.2375. Scored 418 runs and conceded 239.

•Indonesia U19 Women – Placed 2nd with 3 wins and 1 loss, collecting 6 points and a net run rate of 1.0500. Scored 405 runs and conceded 321.

•Fiji U19 Women – Finished 3rd with 2 wins and 2 losses, securing 4 points and a net run rate of 0.0968. Scored 275 runs and conceded 362.

•Papua New Guinea U19 Women – Came 4th with 1 win and 3 losses, earning 2 points and a net run rate of -0.8584. Scored 240 runs and conceded 278.

•Vanuatu U19 Women – Finished 5th, concluding the tournament without a win.

Cricket PNG acknowledges all partners, officials, volunteers, media in PNG, and media in EAP, including supporters whose contributions ensured the successful delivery of the tournament.
