In the past two years all primary schools in Finchhafen electorate were funded K90,000 each and K10, 000 each elementary schools to cater for their needs in providing education.

Finchhafen MP and Minister for Planning and Monitoring Rainbo Paita said the funding has been made with no specification but to assist the schools and it is about time the result should show.

He also told the students in Nanduo primary school on Saturday April 3, 2022 before witnessing the opening of two re-furbished classrooms and three new teachers’ houses to make books their best friend.

Paita said there will always be challenges but education is the way out and that is why the Marape-Basil government is investing heavily in education.

“I challenge you students to make your books your best friend. Not boom box, Facebook or sports. If boom box and Facebook is your best friend now, it is very dangerous. Education is very important,” Paita said.

Paita was also invited to Siki primary in ward 9 of Kotec LLG in Finchhafen electorate to officially open a two story semi-permanent four in one classroom. During the official event he thanked the school administration for the effort in building the classroom.

He said they funded the all primary and electorate in Finchhafen and it is about time the result must show where the money had gone to.

“This is for us to know where the money has gone to. This classroom shows the phase and level in which Kotec LLG is ready to show to us,” Paita said.

He added that the increase in population in village level is also challenging the government to deliver services to the people and therefore parents must seek medal advice on family planning.

Moreover Finchaffen electorate school inspector Ben Anonga said improvement in education is slow but not bad in the district. However they need more improvement.

“We want better academic results for our children and that is why the government is funding education. We want quality education to be as a fruit of this new building. We must send the kids from here to universities and that is the challenge for us teachers,” Anonga said. He said they don’t need the teachers who stay out of school in Lae for over a week or two but they want committed teachers to teach children.
