THE Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has launched its Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (Gesi) policy.
The policy aims at creating a working environment that is safe, equitable, respectful, collaborative and productive for all.
Gesi Manager Marrian Rema said the policy was developed from the collective ideas of team members of DICT during two-day workshops in 2022, where 42 officers out of 68 at that time were Gesi sensitised.
She said their discussions and recommendations were captured were translated into the Gesi policy.
The Gesi policy is a subset of the main public service national policy which aims at creating a safe and conductive environment for employees and employers.
Rema thanked the DICT secretary and the staff for working together to make the policy a success.
The first batch and second batch of officers were presented with certificates after the launching.
