THE North Fly District Development Authority (NFDDA) has successfully migrated from the former Provincial Government Accounting System (PGAS) to the Integrated Financial System (IFMS) as of last week.
Vice Minister for Mining and Border Issues and Member for North Fly, Hon James Donald announced this in a statement.
Donald highlighted that the first IFMS cheque was printed last week in the presence of Mr Greg Issau, the Chief Executive Officer of NFDDA, the NFDDA administration staff, the provincial administration, and a technical team from the Finance Department.
The Vice Minister also stated that the Western Provincial Treasury has also formally migrated to IFMS as of last week, while the Middle Fly, Delta Fly, and South Fly districts are still in the process of setting up the system.
He expressed sincere gratitude for the workshop conducted in the province over the past few weeks.
The workshop will assist the administration staff in adapting to the new IFMS and effectively managing their input accordingly.
Donald emphasized the importance of embracing change and adaptation, stating that every organization must do so to avoid being left behind.
Meanwhile, North Fly district will be printing cheques using the IMFS in Kiunga and this will start enable smooth financial transactions and the payment of goods and services more reliably and effectively.
