Time Travel prioritizes employees’ welfare

By GABRIEL KATUHO

TIME Travel Pacific, an organization that provides and assists PNG nationals with a most convenient and affordable rate in medical and travel services, is now prioritizing the welfare of its staff.

Last Thursday, the management of the organization issued three different colored uniforms bearing the organization’s logo to the staff that are employed in three different sectors of the organization.

The three sectors are; Time Travel Pacific Shop, Time Travel Pacific Bar, and Time Travel Pacific Office. All operate inside Edgewood Hotel in Port Moresby on rental basis.

The issuance of uniforms was seen as a part of improving the welfare of employees of the organization, but most importantly it was about appreciation, motivation and identifying staff of the three different sectors.

Managing Director for Time Travel Pacific, Mr. Randy Castanares said issuing of uniforms signifies the organization’s appreciation to its employees and most importantly it identifies the employees of the respective sectors operating in the organization.

He also stated that as an expatriate operating in the country, Time Travel aims at giving the best treatment to its employees as a way of helping the PNG nationals.

In order to help reduce crime rates in PNG, Mr. Castanares said any organization operating in the country must look at the welfare of their employees in terms of paying them well so that they can sustain their family.

He said petty crimes in the city and other urban centers in the country occur as a result of hunger and many people living in urban centres do not earn enough to cater for their families in this time where unemployment rate is very high.

The MD expressed that this issue can be solved if expatriates and business organizations operating in PNG can pay their employees properly so that they can cater for their families.

In this way, Mr. Castanares believes crimes in urban centers can be reduced.

Time Travel Pacific’s Admin Officer Ms. Jenny Kilagi who is from Central Province thanked the management for the issuing the uniforms.

She said uniforms are employees’ pride.

â€śWhen the employees wear the uniforms, it shows their company identity and it inspires the staff to work,” Ms. Kilagi said.

She said nowadays life is hard if you are not employed in city like Port Moresby.

“With whatever the company is offering to its staff, they should be inspired to work with motivation,” She said.

Ms. Kilagi also added that the issuing of uniforms shows that the employees belong to the organization and the company expects the employees to work progressively.

Time Travel Pacific was established in 2017 after seeing the need for Papua New Guineans who find it hard to get medication for diseases like cancer which is curable overseas.

The organisation provides medical package which comes into two categories.

The first category is for “cooperates” (business organization) and the second one is for “Walking” (customers coming in person and making an appointment).

Since its establishment, the organisation have seen good number of customers coming seeking the services provided.

Mr. Randy Castanares said they have agents in Port Moresby and Manila (Philippines) to assist those who travel under the package.

From the Travel Package, he said the organization will meet the following; Port Moresby to Manila and return ticket to Port Moresby, hospitals appointment, hotel booking/reservation, airport pick-up upon arrival, hotel drop-off, medical travel clearance assistance, and personal guide.

However, he said the customers will only pay for Hospital Bills and Hotel Bills.

Meanwhile, the progress of the organisation looks promising and Mr. Castanares says he is looking at expanding the organisation in the future.
