Koloale FC beat Kiwi FC

YOUNG 13-year old Kiwi FC striker breaks the drought and sends her team up roaring in the 56th minute as she scored the first ever goal for her side before going down in a close match against Kololale FC 2-1.

Florencina Kalifa did her coach a favour when she scored their first goal in the second half of their match but the goal didn’t last long enough before Marina Joe of Koloale equalized in the 73th minute.

Kiwi FC’s defensive 5, 3, 2 playing formation worked in their favour until Donna Kairi pulls it down for a match winner in the 84 minutes when she puts the ball past goal keeper Repeka Asofa Salele to find the net.

Kiwi FC suffered a 6-0 in their tournament opener against Labasa FC followed 9 – 0 defeat to Hekari United FC on Saturday. However, they stood tall, taking one game at the time.

It was even rewarding for Kiwi FC when they hard working goal keeper Repeka Asofa Salele who have been outstanding between the sticks to be rewarded player of the match.

Exciting Koloale FC Coach Chrystal Bakolo said they came out expecting a tough match from Kiwi and that’s what they got.

“I know that we can go in there and win seeing the first half score line 0-0, I have to re-emphasize to my girls.  And so they went into the second half and scored the goals.

“I am very happy with this win. Kiwi is very strong. They want to win as well, with two loses they want to win this game. I did not expect it to be an easy game for us,” Bakolo said.

She added that her side will take the much needed rest they can to recover before facing Hekari United FC on Thursday June 8, 2023.

Meanwhile, Kiwi FC will play their last game of the tournament against the high spirited As Academy Feminine on Thursday at 12pm.
