Coca-Cola PNG’s Coke Peel and Win promotion winners expressed their gratitude for being part of the 2023 Yumi FM PNG Music Awards. The winners, flown in by Coca-Cola PNG from Lae, Goroko, and Western Highlands, joined the Port Moresby winners at Lamana Hotel to celebrate the awards night.
Iso Koim, one of the promotion winners from Mt Hagen, shared his excitement about visiting Port Moresby for the first time. He expressed his gratitude to Coca-Cola PNG for the opportunity and eagerly anticipated being part of the evening’s celebration.
“I arrived in Port Moresby yesterday morning,” Iso said. “Thanks to Coca-Cola PNG, I’m experiencing Port Moresby for the first time. It’s a great feeling to be here directly from Hagen. I consider myself fortunate to be a winner and witness the live performances by the artists at this music awards event.”
Iso and his wife, Esther, along with other winners from outside Port Moresby, were accommodated at Hilton Hotel during their stay. In total, there were nine winners, with five from Port Moresby and four from other locations. The winners included Jessie Rumits (NCD), Iso Koim (Mt Hagen), Levi Vincent (Lae), Mundu Roberts (NDC), Levi Agoni (Lae), Smith Asaro (NCD), Waletr Simon (Goroka), George Koivi (NCD), and Larsen Kili (NCD).
Mundu Roberts, who resides in Port Moresby Hohola, attended the event with his mother as his guest. He expressed his excitement about experiencing the inside of Stanley Hotel and watching Kande Dwane and Daniel Bilip perform live on stage, all thanks to Coca-Cola for the opportunity.
“I’ve been with the Coca-Cola team since yesterday,” Robert said. “We’ve had lunch at Vision City and dinner at Alibi. I can’t stop smiling. I feel like a VIP since yesterday.”
Representing the performing artists for the night, Kronoz expressed his happiness at meeting the fans and the winners of the Peel and Win promotion.
“I come from a settlement, and I’m proud of my roots,” Kronos said. “Music has taken me to different places and introduced me to people from various backgrounds. It has taught me how to carry myself.”
He further added that meeting the Coca-Cola Peel and Win winners, who had never been to big hotels or even Port Moresby, made him feel like he was seeing himself through them. He emphasized that it was a great opportunity for them to visit and explore the city.
Kronos also encouraged local singers to continue making music and follow their passion to earn a living.
