Santos, Telikom announced sponsorship of WIBF

SANTOS PNG and Telikom PNG Ltd have both proudly announced their sponsorships of the World Indigenous Business Forum (WIBF), scheduled to take place next month.

Santos has joined as a platinum sponsor with a generous contribution of K300,000, while Telikom has pledged its support as a silver sponsor with a K100,000 donation.

Country chairman of Santos PNG, Leon Buskens, expressed his enthusiasm for their involvement, stating: “We are thrilled to be a part of this inaugural event, as it showcases the immense potential and richness of PNG businesses.”

He emphasised the longstanding partnership between Santos and local landowner companies, underscoring their integral role in Santos’ operations.

Santos collaborates with 14 such companies, collectively employing twenty thousand Papua New Guineans.

He highlighted the forum’s significance in facilitating this world-class landowner companies’ growth into regional and national entities.

Buskens made this announcement during an event held at the Hilton Hotel in Port Moresby.

Shortly thereafter, Telekom confirmed its Silver Sponsorship with a contribution of K100,000 during a presentation at the APEC Haus.

Telekom PNG chief executive officer, Amos Tepi, expressed his pride in Telikom PNG Ltd’s sponsorship of this significant event and extended his gratitude to the Minister for International Trade and Investment and his team for bringing the WIBF to PNG.

Minister for Trade and Investment Richard Maru extended his thanks to the sponsors and assured them that WIBF would provide space for their representatives to represent their organisations.

He emphasized the magnitude of this event, ranking it as the second-largest after APEC, urging all businessmen and women not to miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

He encouraged business organizations to view WIBF as a platform to promote their products and network with Indigenous business leaders from around the world.

The WIBF is set to commence from October 24th to 26th, 2023, accommodating 600 attendees, including 300 Papua New Guineans and 300 international business leaders. This event promises to be a remarkable gathering, fostering collaboration and growth in the Indigenous business community.
