THE hosting of the inaugural PNG – China PNG Business Forum and Trade Exposition has been moved to March next year, says the Minister for International Trade and Investment, Hon. Richard Maru.
The event will now be hosted on March 8-9, 2027 in Guangzhou, China.
“In light of the current nationwide challenges caused by El Niño, we are moving our event to next year. We want to thank all our foundation sponsors and partners for your continued support and understanding,” said Minister Maru.
“This will give ample preparation time especially for our provinces and SMEs who wish to attend and participate in this very exiting two-day business forum,” he added.
In the meantime, the Ministry and Department of International Trade and Investment will be working with the office of the Prime Minister to officially launch this inaugural business forum and trade expo this month.
“We believe that this business forum and trade expo, the opening of our Consulate-General in Guangzhou, and the negotiation for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between our two countries are very critical as they are part of our Government’s aggressive push to anchor our relationship with China on trade and investment,” said Minister Maru.
