Marum supports Pomio schools

TWO primary schools in the Central Pomio Local Level Government in East New Britain will receive K10,000 cheque each to assist in their operations and upgrade.
Governor Michael Marum pledged the support during his visit to Malakur ward with Pomio Member of Parliament (MP) Elias Kapavore for the launching of the Palmalmal to Bain Road that will connect the West Pomio and Central Pomio LLGs of Pomio District.

The funding support is from the Provincial Support Grant, with K10,000 disbursed to Malakur ward and K10,000 to Bain Primary School in the Central Pomio LLG.
Marum said East New Britain envisions being peaceful, wise and heathy province, where every child is educated and wise.
He said education is a sector that the government is supporting very closely also.
He said there is a school truck already presented to Palmalmal Secondary and this vehicle will also support students that are still in the primary schools. He said this support funding comes from the people of the province and urged the schools and students to manage the resources properly to its purpose.
He also said that his government has supported other schools also in the other three districts and is doing the same otherwise more help will come as their leaders are working together.
Governor Marum said that he brought the PEC members and the ENB Provincial Administration (ENBPA) officers to witness this small but significant program.
He thanked Pomio MP on his vision to connect his people within the district and to the provincial capital of Kokopo City.
Governor said that there is a lot of work to be done, but we (ENBPG and ENBPA) are here because East New Britain province is not just Kokopo or Rabaul. It is the whole province, including Pomio District.
He said that whatever the projects that being supported in the district such as the roads and bridges all this will benefit East New Britain not only the district.
“All the four districts are one and the four members always work together with the Governor to serve our people in the province and I am happy to be part of the official opening of the road and other projects as well,” said the Governor.
