“I am pleased to see equal number of women; Didiman (extension officer). It was once a male dominated field especially in OPIC. Be thankful of yourself for breaking the barrier and taking up this role,” he added.
He said its good to see young people and especially ladies taking this role.
“If ladies can take care of a home, they can take care of anything and everything,” Chairman Tataruo stressed.
Mr Tataruo said there are two female extension officers in Hoskins and a couple in Bialla and am pleased to see more coming up.
He said men and women are equal in everything as we are no longer living in the Stone Age where men have authority and choose type of work for women.
He further stressed that Gender Equality must prevail in everything we do.
He also stressed to the new extension officers to discipline themselves and learn from the outgoing extension officers.
“A lot of good work will come out if you discipline yourselves, it is also important to master and learn from the outgoing officers so you can grasp as much knowledge and expertise from them,” he added.
