TIME Trave Pacific’s management and team shared their Christmas blessings with 125 families in Port Moresby to commemorate festive season.
Staff invited friends and relatives, numbering 100, to join the event at the Filipino Association of Papua New Guinea headquarters at Gordon on Wednesday.
The families, including their children and relatives, who gathered at the hall were served lunch, after which, they were presented with bags filled with food items and a bag of rice. The children were also presented Christmas gifts.
Raffle tickets were drawn, with three lucky participants being declared winners of return tickets to destinations within Papua New Guinea.
The winners were Dorothy Kaiku from Kikori, Gulf Province, Vicky Wala from Rigo in Central Province and Lucy Baraga from Western Highlands.
There was joy and laughter as the families enjoyed the surprises Time Travel staff had prepared. The atmosphere was filled with the real feeling of Christmas as the families departed with smiling faces and thankful hearts.
Sometime later, the 25 guards who provide security at the Philippines embassy, were presented with the same packages as a token of appreciation for their services.
Time Travel Managing Director Randy Castanares said they were happy to share their Christmas blessings with PNG nationals.
“We are working in their country and so we have to appreciate it by what little we can give to the local people,” he said.
Castanares said this is an example of how business houses operating in Papua New Guinea can give something back to the people of Papua New Guinea.
He said many business houses make much money but cannot make an effort to give some back to the people.
Castanares said money is one thing that people find hard to give away.
He said while the main objective of every business is to receive and make a profit, growth can only come about if they are willing to give away something – however small – in return.
Castanares said sharing is a part of the Christian faith and that everyone was obliged to follow the example of the Lord Jesus Christ.
He said despite challenges encountered this year, Time Travel Pacific always sees challenges in a positive way.
Castanres said there is always the dawning of new opportunities when one door closes.
He urged other business houses to share their Christmas blessings with locals as a token of gratitude for being able to operate in the country.
