DADAE HONOURS FALLEN SOLDIERS AT THE 43RD REMEMBRANCE DAY

IT was a moment of emotions and great respect as the band leads the marching soldiers towards the Remembrance Park paying tribute to the all that fought the battle during the world war one and two.

Forming the parade were defence force of Murray Barracks, Correctional services from the Bomana and the St. John Ambulance.

His Excellency Governor General Sir Bob Dadae delivers a remarkable speech acknowledging the past the lives that were in brave heart to fight for the country.

“It is my greatest honour to join you all to commemorate the 43rd Remembrance Day, to remember those who fell in the battle and those who stood in defence of our land and its people,” GG Dadae expressed in during the ceremony today at Ela beach.

Amongst everyone that came to witness the ceremony, were the Governor for NCD Hon. Powes Parkop, Member for Moresby South Hon. Justin Tkatchencko, Acting Chief of Defence Force Commodore Philip Polewara, chief Secretary Ivan Pomelau and Chairman of Motu Koita  Assembly Sir Dadi Toka Jnr. Including other senior states man and guests.

H.E Dadae acknowledged the ordinary people who got in battle and with wounds become helpers in bringing supplies back and forth as well as took roles of tour guides.

He accredited their contributions and valuable people that brought in assistance to soldiers that were leading in the front lines.

“Let us remember their loyalty, courage and devotion. They were a people in their own time and many of them died without telling us their names or where they came from, who their families and what their dream were”.

“These war men were surrounded by orders and duty to care. They understood their duty to serve and served with pride and distinction”.

H.E Dadae expresses, they can never be forgotten and he salute their effort for bringing peace as society comes to order and every citizen freely interact in communities.

He urged every citizen to respect and abide to the government of the day upholding the rule of law and creating and stronger united country.

He believes everyone in the community can work in collaboration to promote peace, build a vibrant society for unity and goodwill, and allow for youths to children to roam freely without intimidation or act of crime.
