HUNTERS Head Coach, Paul Aiton, is getting his players ready for the home final play-offs this Saturday against the Wynnum Manly Seagulls.
While keeping everything as normal as the regular season, Aiton said turning up on time and training well in preparation for the final play-offs, is the only thing that they are focusing.
After the victory over the Clydesdales last Sunday, Coach Aiton hand-picked few errors from the game, and he is working on correcting them.
Despite those errors, he is confident that they (Hunetrs) will make it through.
Meanwhile, Coach Aiton is looking into making few changes in the lineup of this weekend’s game to accommodate injury curve from last weekend’s game.
“We had Clant Lama ruled out for 11 days, however, Lau was cleared so he is back on the squad,” Aiton said.
“Jordan Patt suffered a new injury and Alex Max suffered an ankle injury,” he said.
“There are few more niggles that we will try and monitor to see if they can play.
“Mavoko is well so we are going to get him to rest as much as possible, and make sure he is running well.”
Aiton added: “Waynum Manley Seagulls are sitting in the eight spot, and like other teams they have put Hunters in their calendar.”
Last weekend during the 10th year anniversary of SP PNG Hunters in the Queensland Host Plus Cup Competition, the pioneers of Hunters were invited to commemorate the day.
The anniversary celebration coincided with the 46 to 12 victory over Clydesdales.
Aiton said that this was memorable and expects such unity and team spirit to remain in the team.
He also expressed his appreciation to the committed and hardworking coaching staff, Enock Marki and Puara Junior for helping him throughout the session to secure final play-offs.
