KEROWAGI District has officially launched its website, www.kerowagi.gov.pg, aligning with the Marape-Rosso Government’s Medium Term Development Plan (MTDP IV), which emphasizes digital transformation.
This milestone was celebrated during the district’s Five-Year Development Plan Commissioning on October 3, 2024.
The event was graced by the Minister for Information, Technology, and Communication (ITC) and Member for North Bougainville, Hon. Timothy Masiu, who praised local MP Hon. Francis Kikin Siune for his leadership in service delivery and his commitment to integrating digital solutions that connect Kerowagi to global communities.
“Technology is already here; connecting to the internet, social media platforms, and using applications is the new way of life. We must embrace it and incorporate it into public service to ensure faster and more transparent workflows.
As the Minister for ITC, it’s an honor to officially launch the Kerowagi District’s new website,” stated Minister Masiu.
In line with the Department of ITC’s requirements, each district is required to appoint a Digital Transformation Officer (DTO) after the launch of their website.
The DTO will be trained to maintain and update the site, ensuring its effectiveness.
“This is now the official website of the district as per government standards.
Any other sites claiming to represent Kerowagi will be removed by the Department of Information, Communication, and Technology,” said Kerowagi MP Francis Kikin Siune.
This initiative marks a significant step towards promoting transparency and improving public service accessibility.
By leveraging technology, Kerowagi District aims to enhance governance while empowering its citizens with information for better decision-making and community engagement.
The launch of the Kerowagi District website reflects a commitment to modernizing governance through digital means, ensuring that all residents have access to essential services and information.
