THE commander of NCD and Central Provinces acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Benjamin Turi had appointed two new senior police officers to take charge of two Police stations in the Moresby North East Electorate.
Commander Turi added that many changes are happening in the city, and the officers who step out of line will be disciplined, and new officers need to step in and continue the job, so policing services must continue.
He said that he had appointed Senior Inspector Jeffery Simewa as the new acting Gordons Police Station commander while the Gordons police station commander Senior Inspector Gabriel Kini will be investigated for a traffic accident that involved a police vehicle this morning at Erima.
He said the new Nine Mile Police station will be under the command of Inspector Leonard Wai. He said Leorand and Simewa had a wealth of experience in policing and their appointment is to maintain the continuity of police service in the command.
“Senior Inspector Jerry Simewa was the former commander of NCD Barracks. He will now take charge of Gordons Police Station to maintain police operations. We all must work with him and the officers to maintain what the good officers and the management had done to clean up Gordons, Commander Turi said.
He further added that the new Nine Mile Police station that will be opened tomorrow will be under the command of Inspector Leonard Wai.
Commander Turi further added that the police service in the command will continue, and those who step out of line will be disciplined accordingly.
“I want the public to work closely with the new commanders to make the Moresby North East a better place to live. We will need each and everyone to work with the police officers down the ranks and files, commander Turi said.
