BOROKO POLICE OPERATION CENTRE OPEN FOR POLICE COMMUNICATION OFFICERS TO USE

THE Police operation Centre at Boroko police station had been reopened today by the Commander of National Captial District and Central Provinces acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Benjamin Turi and was witnessed by the and will be used again by the police officers from National Capital District and Central provinces.

The police operation centre had been relocated to Konidobu for almost four years after the police management decided to do renovation.

Commander Turi, during the opening, told the speakers who will be working shifts to attend to calls from the public to disseminate information to police units must take their job seriously.

He said the operation center is the heart of police operations in the city because it receives information and disseminates information to both the victim and the police.

He said he understands the manpower problem the section is facing, and that is a management issue that they will look into to recruit more operations.

A representative from the Papua New Guinea -Australian Policing Partnership (PNG-APP) program Detective Superintendent Conard Jensen was also pleased with the program that will not help policing in National Capital District and Central Provinces easier because the public and the police will be interacting to share information to help policing easier.

He said the setup of the office is of high standard, which will help the officers to interact with themselves and the others.

National Capital District Metropolitan Superintendent Silva Sika also thanked the PNG-APP officers who had assisted in completing the project that would be used by the police officers.

He said he will be monitoring the operation center to make sure that officers must always monitor the operation center and attend to all who call to report a crime or disperse police officers to crime scenes.
He said opening is timely, and as the operation center commences, it will help all.
