PRIME Minister James Marape says major discussions at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, were centered around collaboration efforts for intelligence age.
He said the discussions focused on ensuring challenges are addressed through innovation and partnership, promoting sustainable and inclusive growth.
“Our major focus of the meeting rotates around how artificial intelligence could save the world going forward, and PNG cannot afford to be left behind in latest contemporary developments,” PM Marape explained.

The Prime Minister said in the fast-moving world today, technology plays a pivotal role in developments, which contributes to keys sectors of a country.
He said the presence of emerging technologies cannot be neglected, as they are catalysts to transformation to the outside world.
“I want to inform the country that one of the reasons why I went there was to established links to the frontiers,” PM said.
“Today it is a digital world, powered by artificial intelligence as innovations move at a lightning speed,” he added.
“For me personally, it was an eye opener to the world. We do participate in APEC, PIF, UN, and other forums but this one is very exclusive.”
The Prime Minister further elaborated on several key outcomes of the conference regarding climate change and its sustainability, which PNG has a strong voice on it.
“There is an optimist view in 2025; it is believed that most economy will pose growth and consistency with our own local focus for PNG,” he explained.
PM added that the conference allowed for backrooms meetings; nations to nations in the space of geo-politics, which Russia-Ukraine become a main agenda for the discussions.
“All nations were asked to speak their mind, unlike the United Nations, which is broadcast for everyone to see.
“This one was exclusive; we were reminded that as national leaders you have responsibility not to speak deeply into conversations that will make in-depth on their agendas,”
PM Marape was speaking after returning from the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos yesterday.
